Objective 2026–2028.

Before installing artificial nest boxes, FundaBúho prioritizes the identification and monitoring of potential habitats, particularly in areas where trees have been pruned prior to the breeding season, as well as in grasslands affected by wildfires. These landscapes often experience a significant loss of natural cavities and represent key opportunities for conservation action. To strengthen this preventive and science-based phase of the project, the foundation requires specialized monitoring equipment over the next two years. During this initial phase, we seek to acquire:

  • One nocturnal observation device, essential for assessing the presence and behavior of nocturnal species prior to nest-box installation.
  • Ten (10) camera traps, intended for continuous monitoring of artificial nests, allowing documentation of breeding activity, refuge use, and potential threats.
The acquisition of this equipment will enhance decision-making, optimize nest-box placement, and reinforce the scientific foundation of FundaBúho’s work between 2026 and 2028.

Financial Support.

Financial contributions deposited into our bank accounts are essential to sustain FundaBúho’s work. Donations allow us to acquire key materials for the construction of artificial nesting cavities, as well as tools and supplies needed for the maintenance of nest boxes installed in the field. The materials we most frequently purchase include:

  • Wooden panels.
  • Wood cutting discs.
  • Adhesives.
  • Screws.
  • Drill bits for metal and wood.
  • Metal tubes for nest installation.

Each contribution directly supports wildlife conservation and the protection of critical habitats.

🦉 Donate an artificial nest or monitoring equipment.

You may support our project by donating a fully built artificial nest box or monitoring equipment (camera trap) directly to our project, located at Hotel Robledal. As a token of appreciation, we offer a special accommodation discount for supporters under this modality. To receive the benefit, please visit www.hotelrobledal.com, select the room that best fits your trip and budget, and enter the promo code: #PYGMYOWL.

We accept financial donations through PayPal, which are directly allocated to conservation activities, monitoring programs, and environmental education.

🏭 Donate space within your company for an artificial cavity

Companies may support FundaBúho by providing voluntary space for the installation of an artificial nesting cavity. This is coordinated with maintenance, occupational safety, or environmental departments, aiming to support owl species that have completely lost nesting opportunities in traditional green areas. This action not only benefits wildlife conservation but also contributes to natural biological control, enhancing corporate sustainability efforts.

🌱 Volunteer at our nursery at
Hotel Robledal.

FundaBúho manages a native tree nursery located at Hotel Robledal. Volunteer activities include:

  • Transplanting seedlings to larger pots.
  • Weeding.
  • Seed collection.
  • Planting and general maintenance.
These native species will eventually be planted within the Garcimuñoz Biological Corridor.

Volunteers play a vital role in achieving our ecological restoration goals.
